TOPIC: In most cases, RiverTools 4.0 installs and runs on Windows 10 PCs with no issues. In some cases, however, a required DLL file called: msvcr100.dll may be missing that needs to be installed before RiverTools 4.0 will work. This tech tip describes how to do that. DISCUSSION: If RiverTools 4.0 fails to run on a Windows 10 PC, try the following steps. Step 1: Open a Windows command prompt window by going to the Start menu and typing "command" in the search to find and launch the built-in app, cmd.exe. Step 2: Change to the directory where the required DLL file should be, by typing: cd C:\Windows\System32 in the command prompt window. Step 3: Next, search the directory for the required DLL file by typing: dir msv*. If you don't see a file by the name: msvcr100.dll, then you must download and install it by completing the remaining steps below. The missing DLL file is associated with Visual C++ for Visual Studio 2015. Step 4:
Open a browser and visit the following Microsoft website: Step 5: Click on and run the executable file you just downloaded from Microsoft to install the missing DLL file. Step 6: Try starting RiverTools 4.0 again by clicking on the shortcut on your desktop. If it still doesn't start, restart your PC and try again.
